DENPASAR - The Bali Province Education, Youth and Sports Office (Disdikpora) noted that there are around 18 thousand poor students in Bali. Poor students will be accommodated in the New Student Admissions (PPDB) for SMA and SMK levels for the 2022/2023 academic year.
"For poor students, we make sure that all of them will be accommodated. All of them can choose schools according to the regional zoning in the nearest sub-district. So you don't have to go to certain schools outside their districts, please choose them", said Head of the Bali Province Disdikpora, Boy Jayawibawa, Monday, June 6th.
To ensure the economic background of the students' families, Disdikpora will coordinate with the local Traditional Village. Checks will be carried out by visiting the student's house directly.
"Later on for the poverty level, of course, do a home visit or come to the student's house and be classified. Synergize with the Traditional Village, is it true that the student is poor and then very, very poor, this will then be processed so that later it is expected from government funds to help poor students", added Jayawibawa.
The prepared budget reaches IDR 18.5 billion for houses. One student will get the assistance of IDR 1.5 million per year.
"What we have submitted to Development Planning Agency at Sub-National Level (Bappeda) is IDR 18.5 billion. For (one person) IDR 1.5 million is just a calculation first. Later, we will coordinate with Head of Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) and Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) about how much is appropriate for that", said Jayawibawa.
"It is hoped that this can be added to the national School Operational Assistance (BOS) and regional BOS. Then, from the Smart Indonesia Card, it is sufficient for our children who are less able to complete their education process", he explained.
