Divided Into 2 Groups, 146 Palangka Raya Hajj Candidates Start Departing 18 June

PALANGKA RAYA - The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) said that prospective pilgrims from Palangka Raya City departed for Mecca this year, they were divided into two flying groups (kloters).

"For the Palangka Raya City congregation there are 146 people. They are divided into two groups, namely group 5 with 144 pilgrims and group 7 with 32 pilgrims," said Head of the Ministry of Religion for Palangka Raya City, Nur Widiantoro in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Friday, June 3.

He explained that JCH Palangka Raya, which departed for the first time, would disembark in Medina and only head to Makkah after carrying out a number of worship processes.

The pilgrims departing for the second stage will be in Jeddah, then continue on to Mecca and finally to Medina.

The pilgrims from "City of Beauty" (the name for Palangka Raya) are planned to depart for the Banjarmasin Embarkation, South Kalimantan after being ceremonially released by the Mayor of Palangka Raya, Fairid Naparin, on Thursday night, June 16.

"Because our congregation has to enter the Banjarmasin Embarkation on Friday (17 June) morning," he said.

He said in general the entire committee was ready to dispatch JCH. However, at this time all Hajj candidates still have to carry out the ritual stages.

"The payment is complete and everything has been completed. The preparation that is being carried out is the Hajj ritual which was once held by the Ministry of Religion and was continued twice by the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA)," he said.

All pilgrims from Central Kalimantan Province who departed via the Banjarmasin Embarkation will depart for Saudi Arabia in groups 5, 6, and 7.

For departure plans, namely batch 5 from the Banjarmasin Embarkation on June 18, batch 6 on June 19, and batch 7 on June 21, 2022.

The total number of those leaving for Hajj in 2022 is 752 people, consisting of 731 pure JCHs, while the others are KBIHU (Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group), PHD (Regional Hajj Officers), and others.
