JAKARTA - Jabodebek LRT will implement a cashless payment system to support the National Non-Cash Movement.
PT KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said, to be able to ride the Jabodebek LRT, customers can use Transportation Electronic Money Cards, Banking Electronic Money Cards, and various types of Digital Wallets.
"KAI will carry out a comprehensive ticketing system integration in which all existing electronic money cards, banking electronic money cards, and digital wallets can be used to ride the Jabodebek LRT," said Joni in a statement monitored in Jakarta, Friday, May 3.
Joni said that the Transportation Electronic Money Card that will be implemented is the KAI Commuter Multi Trip Card (KMT).
KMT can be used to ride trains on various KAI Group services such as the Jabodetabek KRL, Yogyakarta-Solo KRL, and Soekarno-Hatta Airport Train.
Since the end of 2021, the KMT can also be used to ride other public transportation modes, namely the Jakarta MRT, Jakarta LRT, and Transjakarta Bus.
If the customer uses an electronic money card, the Jabodebek LRT payment flow is that the customer first taps in at the departure station to check card validation and check balance, and write down the travel data area (time, gate id, station id).
Upon arrival at the destination station, the customer taps out and the electronic money card balance is automatically deducted.
If the customer pays for a digital wallet, the customer taps in to check the QR payment validation, check the balance, deduct the balance for the furthest fare, and write down the travel data area (time, gate id, station id).
Upon arrival at the destination station, the customer taps out to read the QR and the balance will be returned if there is a difference.
"The advantage of electronic money or digital wallets as a means of payment is that it is more practical, safe, and can be used for various functions, so Jabodebek LRT customers have many options for paying for tickets," he said.
He revealed that the Jabodebek LRT will operate at 18 stations, namely Dukuh Atas, Setiabudi, Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Pancoran, Cikoko, Ciliwung, Cawang, TMII, Kampung Rambutan, Ciracas, Harjamukti, Halim, Jatibening Baru, Cikunir I, Cikunir II, West Bekasi, and Jatimulya.
For the Tapping service on the Jabodebek LRT, KAI has installed 14 Turnstile type gates and 2 Wide type gates for disabled customers at each station.
Especially at Halim Station, KAI uses a flap type gate to make it easier for customers who will/have used the plane.
To top up electronic money card balances, KAI installs 2 units of Ticket Vending Machines at each station.
KAI also provides 2 units of Point of Sales which are used by counter officers for selling electronic money cards.
Joni explained that the Jabodebek LRT Ticketing System service uses the Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) ticketing system.
The AFC ticketing system is an automatic ticketing system that is calculated based on a group of integrated sensor components.
Through this AFC system, all ticket services can be accommodated such as sales, troubled ticket services, cancellations, penalties, and route additions.
“Our services on the Jabodebek LRT are adapted to the times where digitalization is a must. The hope is that customers will have easy transactions and a pleasant public transportation experience," concluded Joni.
Until May 2022, the progress of the Jabodebek LRT reached 82.34 percent.
The Jabodebek LRT is targeted for a soft launch on August 17, 2022 and will then operate commercially immediately.
