Good News For DNA Pro Victims, LPSK Wants To Facilitate Restitution Applications

JAKARTA - The head of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Hasto Atmojo Suroyo said it was possible to facilitate the submission of restitution or refund of losses for victims of alleged fraudulent investment fraud through the DNA Pro trading robot application.

"(According to the rules) maybe because restitution is the right of the victims," said Hasto after the "Kick-off Community-Based Witness and Victim Protection Program in Yogyakarta" in Yogyakarta, Thursday, June 2, quoted from Antara.

Hasto said restitution is compensation paid by the perpetrator to the victim and LPSK based on the Law (UU) has a mandate to carry out calculations and assessments.

According to him, specifically the regulation is contained in Supreme Court Regulation (Perma) Number 1 of 2022.

"So the LPSK's work is getting harder and harder. Not to mention providing protection and assistance to witnesses and victims, it is also obliged to conduct an assessment of compensation," he said.

Hasto said LPSK had received reports of more than 1,000 victims of alleged fraudulent investment fraud.

However, the report is still being investigated in coordination with law enforcement officials. This is because some people think that the complainants are not victims.

"Some of our people think it's not a victim. They look for their own disease, they think it's a gamble. But we don't think in that direction, basically if we get certainty that they are designated as victims, we will protect them," said Hasto.

In addition to fraudulent investments, said Hasto, LPSK also received many reports from victims of online or online loan cases.

"There are also a lot of online loans. The online loans are only a few million, but the bills are in the tens and hundreds of millions and are accompanied by threats and we are identifying them," he said.

As reported, as many as 241 victims of alleged fraudulent investment fraud through the DNA Pro trading robot application submitted a request for restitution to return losses to LPSK on Monday (30/5).

The coordinator of the attorney for DNA victims Pro Zainul Arifin said that through this application, LPSK is expected to be able to propose to the Public Prosecutor to file a refund for the victims' losses in the prosecution indictment.
