Commemorating The Birthday Of Pancasila, The Red And White Saka Spread Around Borobudur Temple

MAGELANG – To commemorate the Birthday of Pancasila on June 1, a number of activities were carried out by the community. One of them unfurled a 1,000-meter-long Red and White flag to surround Borobudur Temple in Magelang Regency, Central Java, on Wednesday 1 June 2022.

The activity of unfurling the Red and White Flag around Borobudur Temple was carried out by volunteers from various elements of society throughout Indonesia, in the Nusantara Cultural Festival.

The chairman of the Committee for the 1,000-meter Red and White Flag at Borobudur Temple, Edi Santoso, said the activity was an expression of love for the country from the youth of the archipelago tourism village who came from various regions in Indonesia.

"By unfurling the red and white flag around Borobudur Temple to show that Indonesia is a big country, a country that loves culture, a country that loves MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises)," he said, as quoted by Antara.

After unfurling the Red and White Flag around Borobudur Temple, the Dwiwarna was escorted to the Kembanglimus Village Economic Center (Balkondes), which is approximately three kilometers away.

By unfurling the Red and White Flag on the Birthday of Pancasila, Edi hopes that this activity can increase the love for the country for the participants and the community.

Meanwhile, one of the event committee members, Ronald Sibarani, explained that the activity to spread the Sang Saka Merah Putih for 1,000 meters illustrates the spirit of gotong royong for the Indonesian people.

"One of the spirit of mutual cooperation can be seen in unfurling this flag. There is a togetherness when unfurling the flag, each other must pay attention," said Ronald.

According to him, the nature of togetherness is a message that the spirit of gotong royong will continue to be needed as the best step to maintain the unity and integrity of the Indonesian nation.

A participant in the Spread of the Red and White Flag activity at Borobudur Temple named Lili expressed her joy at being able to commemorate the Birthday of Pancasila by participating in unfurling the Red and White Flag at Borobudur Temple.

"I came to Borobudur with my mother. Coincidentally, this is the first time I have visited Borobudur Temple," said the woman from Nias, North Sumatra.
