The National Police Didn't Fire Raden Brotoseno Because Of The Achievements And Defense Of Superiors, ICW: Unusual

JAKARTA - Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) considers the reason why the National Police did not fire Raden Brotoseno on the grounds of achievement is very odd. In fact, Brotoseno is a former convict in a corruption case that clearly violates the law.

"Brotoseno is considered to have excelled while carrying out his service in the police. This is also odd, because how can someone who uses his position to profit illegally be considered an achiever," said ICW researcher Kurnia Ramadhana in her statement, Tuesday, May 31.

ICW also considers Brotoseno's actions to be condescending to the Polri institution. In fact, the Bhayangkara Corps is an institution to eradicate crime, but its members are the perpetrators.

"Isn't that act demeaning the Polri institution itself? The things that should be considered are related to the substance of the crime, not related to Brotoseno's past," he said.

Not only that, the Police statement that mentions the consideration of superiors who said Brotoseno deserves to be maintained has also been in the spotlight. The figure of the superior was asked to be disclosed transparently.

The superior figure was asked to explain his reasons for maintaining Brotoseno.

"Who exactly is the superior? In addition, the party who gave the recommendation to Brotoseno should also be prosecuted or at least investigated, regarding the motive and purpose of defending Brotoseno," said Kurnia.

Previously, the National Police stated that AKBP Raden Brotoseno was not fired from Koprs Bhayangkara because he was only sentenced to demotion based on the decision of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) trial.

The decision to impose sanctions was due to a defense that stated that Borotoseno should be retained as a member of the National Police because he was considered to have excelled.

"There is a statement from the superior of AKBP R. Brotoseno that he can be maintained as a member of the National Police with various considerations of achievement and behavior during his service in the police," said Head of the Porpam Division of the National Police Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
