Inviting Various Countries To The World Water Forum In Bali, Minister Basuki: Don't Forget To Bring Your Family

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono invited delegates from various countries at the congress of the International Commission On Large Dams (ICOLD), Marseille, France to come to the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali. year 2024.

“I invite delegates and families of the world dam community who are members of ICOLD to come to Bali to attend the upcoming WWF-10 Year 2024. Don't forget to take your family and enjoy the beauty of Bali later," said Basuki at the ICOLD Indonesia Cultural Gathering session, Marseille, France, as a written statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 31, quoted from Antara.

Basuki also expressed his gratitude for the trust given by ICOLD members to Indonesia to hold the World Water Forum (WWF).

"On behalf of the Government of Indonesia, I would like to thank you profusely for the continued support given by ICOLD members who have entrusted us to host the 10th WWF event in Bali in 2024," he said.

WWF is the world's largest international conference covering all topics in the water resources sector. The location for the 10th WWF event will be at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) which can accommodate more than 15.000 participants and visitors.

In the session of the Indonesia Cultural Gathering, the delegates who attended from various countries seemed to enjoy the music and Indonesian cuisine served at the meeting, such as Balinese satay, chicken satay, lemper, and Indonesian cakes. Foreign delegates received coffee grounds and Balinese udeng as souvenirs.

In the ICOLD congress series, Basuki together with the Deputy Minister for Ecological Transition of the French Government Yoann La Corte, ICOLD President Michael F. Rogers, and ICOLD Secretary-General Michel de Vivo also opened the Indonesian National Committee on Large Dams (INACOLD) Exhibition. (KNIBB).

This exhibition displays a number of information related to the construction and management of dams in Indonesia. Since 2015 to date, Indonesia has built 61 dams, of which 29 have been completed and the rest are targeted for completion by the end of 2024 or early 2025.

Minister Basuki along with a number of delegates from Indonesia and other countries also visited exhibition booths from various ICOLD member countries.

Also accompanying Minister Basuki were the Inspector General of the Ministry of PUPR T. Iskandar, the Indonesian Consul General for Marseille Arif Basalamah, the Expert Staff of the Minister of PUPR for Technology, Industry and Environment Endra S. Atmawidjaja, the Director of Dams and Lakes Airlangga Mardjono, and the Indonesian National Committee for Big Dam (KNIBB/INACOLD).
