JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK), Muhadjir Effendy initiated the establishment of the Indonesian Resilience House forum as a communication forum for stakeholders to share knowledge and experiences both in disaster risk management.

This forum was formed to support the achievement of one of the goals of the 7th Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GPDRR) international forum which was held in Bali 23-28 May 2022.

The 7th GDPRR, organized by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) with the government of Indonesia, is a global forum to review and discuss progress on implementing the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.

This year's theme is the transformation "From Risk to Resilience: Towards Sustainable Development for All in a Changing World Due to Covid-19".

Coordinating Minister Muhadjir said there were four targets to be achieved in this activity.

"The first target is more on post-Covid-19 recovery, the second target is to increase public awareness in disaster management, the third target involves an important element of pentahelix in disaster risk reduction, and the fourth target shows the good practices that Indonesia has implemented," said Coordinating Minister Muhadjir in a written statement, Monday 30 May.

Rumah Resiliensi Indonesia was established from a group of activists and communities, both community organizations and volunteers as well as philanthropists who have high concern in the field of disaster risk reduction in Indonesia.

For this reason, Coordinating Minister Muhadjir hopes that through the Indonesian Resilience House, all parties can exchange ideas, provide innovation, and work together to deal with various disasters, both natural and non-natural.

Responding to this, Vice President of PT Tatalogam Lestari (Tatalogam Group), Stephanus Koeswandi said that the cooperation of various parties is indeed an important key in reducing disaster risk. For this reason, Rumah Domus as part of the Resilience House is committed to supporting these efforts.

“In an effort to reduce various disaster risks, good cooperation from many parties is needed. With us exchanging ideas, providing innovation and working together, all problems can be easily solved. Casualties, economic losses, environmental damage can be minimized. Mitigation by involving many parties can also be the basis for development planning. For this reason, PT Tatalogam Lestari (Tatalogam Group) as the producer of Domus instant homes is committed to supporting this effort," said Stephanus in his statement, Friday, May 27.

Stephanus added, Tatalogam Group is also committed to preserving the environment so that the impact of disasters arising from the production process can be suppressed. By promoting the green industry, Tatalogam Group hopes not only to reduce disaster risk, but also to help accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targets that have been set by the government.

“Disaster risk reduction is basically an approach to identify, evaluate, and reduce risks caused by disasters. The practice is to make systematic efforts to analyze and manage the factors that cause disasters. Tatalogam Group is committed to this practice. The way to do this is by promoting a green industry so that the impact of environmental damage that can lead to natural disasters can be avoided," he said.
