PKS 'tempted' To Become Presidential Candidate In The 2024 Election, Sandiaga Uno: Ojo Kesusu, I Focus On The Ministry

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno does not want to think about his participation in the political contestation in 2024 later. Because, at this time Sandiaga is still serving as a minister.

This statement was made by Sandiaga while attending the 20th anniversary of PKS. Previously, PKS Secretary General Aboe Bakar Al-Habsyi 'tempted' Sandiaga to be proposed by PKS as a presidential candidate for the 2024 election.

Sandiaga said he had often been reminded by President Joko Widodo to focus on working until the end of his term in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet. He admitted that he was still concentrating on reviving the weakened economy due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I myself have received direct directions from the President that to focus on assigned functions. This has been reminded many times, now it is indeed not to lose concentration to revive the economy," said the deputy chairman of the Gerindra Party Advisory Board.

Therefore, the former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta said that he still had more than one year to come if he later planned to run for the 2024 presidential election.

"So, the political process will take place around September 2023. But until there, we will remain focused on our very difficult task because the community is facing a situation that requires empathy from all public officials," he explained.

Previously, during the 20th anniversary of PKS, PKS Secretary General Aboe Bakar Al-Habsyi talked about the potential for carrying presidential candidates for the 2024 election at his party's 20th anniversary event which was held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, today.
