Police Accept Suspension Of 10 Students Involved In Road Blocking Action

MATARAM - Investigators from the Bima Resort Police, West Nusa Tenggara, have granted a letter of application for the postponement of the detention of 10 students who are suspected of being provocateurs of the demonstration by blocking roads for four days in the South Monta area. "So yesterday the detention was suspended and today it is confirmed that all are in their respective homes," he said. The student, who was previously detained at the NTB Police Rutan, came from a number of universities. They include the initials AR (20), IT (20), and ARH (20), from the Bima School of Teacher Training and Education (STKIP). Then from the Mataram Polytechnic, the initials AK (21), and SU (21). Then there were those from the Muhammadiyah University of Bima, with the initials SA (25), and MA (22). The other three, MU (23) from Mataram University, MR (19) from the Indonesian Muslim University Makassar, and AAM (22) from Makassar Islamic University. In handling the case, which is currently under investigation by the Bima Police, they were named as suspects under the suspicion of Article 192 of the Criminal Code Juncto Article 63 paragraph 1 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 38/2004 concerning Roads, with a penalty of nine years to 15 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 2 billion. From the action that started on Monday 9 May to Thursday 12 May, they demanded the government to repair road infrastructure in the South Monta Region, Bima Regency. However, in this action they are suspected of provoking the masses to block the road to disrupt community activities.
