TARAKAN - The TNI AL XIII/Tarakan Main Base managed to thwart the shipment of 400 kilograms of illegal meat under the Alana brand from Tawau, Malaysia.

Then, Pakamla 115 Satrol personnel inspected the speedboat and found 10 sacks of suspected illegal meat which were later confirmed by the Tarakan Agricultural Quarantine Center, and it was discovered that the meat came from Tawau, Malaysia, which entered Indonesian waters illegally.

"This item is entrusted with the mode but will be investigated by the PPNS of the Agricultural Quarantine Center," he said.

Silaban appealed to ship owners and agents from regular and non-regular speed boats not to bring illegal goods.

"Including SDF port managers in Tarakan and Nunukan for not allowing illegal transport of goods, if it still happens we will take action," he said.
