DEPOK - Former General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, Said Aqil Siradj, reminded everyone to choose a future leader that is acceptable to all parties.

Said Aqil Siradj said this while attending the halalbihalal held by the Darul Uchwah Economics Islamic Boarding School, Depok City, West Java and the Islam Nusantara Foundation.

"What is clear is that I am not a political figure, but I am looking for a leader who can be accepted by all parties, all ethnicities, religions and cultures accept this figure and understand the needs of the Indonesian people, such an ideal leader," said Said Aqil Siradj in Depok, quoted from Antara. , Thursday 26 May.

Siradj, further said that besides the skills, intelligence or expertise possessed. But the most important thing is to understand the state of Indonesia, and it can be accepted by all parties and no less important is that it is clean from corruption, so there is no historical burden, background involved in corruption.

So ideally, said Siradj, a very plural nation whose leaders must have a pluralist spirit, a very cultured nation, so the dreamer must be cultured, don't make the wrong choice. If the leader does not know the culture, there is no spirit of pluralism and there is no spirit of diversity, then that is the danger.

In this halalbihalal event, Siradj explained about Islam Nusantara. He said several guests from the Middle East came to him when he was still the General Chair of PBNU and gave several lectures abroad and conveyed the idea of Islam Nusantara, which is a friendly Islam, a cultured Islam.

So he said it was not doctrinal Islam or forced Islam, not at all, so Islam Nusantara is Islam that is compatible with the nation and society of the archipelago.
