125 Residents In Wasior West Papua Receive BLT Rp900 Thousand, District Head: Don't Sit On The Beach, Play Music Buy Alcohol

WEST PAPUA - A total of 125 families affected by COVID-19 in Maniwak Village, Wasior District, Teluk Wondama Regency, West Papua received Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance (BLT) for the first quarter of 2022 amounting to Rp900 thousand.

Head of the Wasior District, Anthonius Alex Marani, said that the distribution of the Village Fund BLT in Maniawak Village was carried out on Wednesday at the local village hall.

Each family head receives BLT DD in the amount of IDR 300 thousand per month, but it is paid in one lump sum for the three months of January-March 2022.

"We hope that the funds (BLT Dana Desa, ed.) received will be used properly. Don't just sit on the beach and play music, then use it to buy liquor. Please use it well to help with daily needs," said Anthonius in Wasior, Antara, Thursday, May 26.

The head of the Teluk Wondama Community and Village Empowerment Service (PMK), Hendrik Rico Tetelepta explained, according to Presidential Regulation Number 104 of 2021, it is regulated that 40 percent of Village Funds sourced from the APBN are allocated for social protection programs in the form of direct cash assistance.

The next 20 percent is for food security and eight percent is for handling COVID-19.

"So the Village Fund BLT must be distributed, the condition is that those who are entitled to receive it are those who do not receive other assistance, for example from the Ministry of Social Affairs or which are usually distributed at the Post Office. If those who have received it cannot receive Village Fund BLT because it cannot be doubled," he said.

He reminded that there should be no cuts in BLT in its distribution. In addition, the village head did not delay the distribution of BLT and immediately prepared an accountability report.

Village Funds from APBN sources as well as Village Fund Allocations from APBD sources must be conveyed transparently to the community, what are the funds used for.

The head of the Maniwak Village, Metusalem Paduai, in his report detailed the first quarter 2022 BLT DD distributed to 125 families, a total of Rp. 112.5 million.

In addition to BLT, the first phase of 2022 DD is also used for village government operations, honorarium for posyandu cadres and the procurement of posyandu furniture in three RTs in Maniwak Village.
