JAKARTA - Central Bangka Regency Government, Bangka Belitung Islands, continues to monitor the availability of cooking oil at the agent and retailer level.

"We have monitored the availability of cooking oil both at the agent and retailer level, the results are still relatively safe," said Head of the Central Bangka Disperindagkop Ali Imron in Koba, Tuesday, May 24.

According to him, the average community's need for cooking oil reaches 30 milliliters/person/day. With a total of 144 thousand users, the need for cooking oil in Central Bangka reaches 4,320 liters per day.

"With the current stock, it can still last for the next month," he said, quoted from Antara.

Ali also said that until now there has been no effect of reopening exports on the availability of cooking oil in the regions.

"Currently the supply is relatively large, it is very easy to find in a number of small stalls with relatively normal prices," he said.

He added that the price of cooking oil of various types and brands is still normal with a range of Rp. 14,000 to Rp. 25,000 per liter.

"Nevertheless, we continue to monitor whether there is a shortage of supply because it could trigger price increases," he said.

Ali also reminded traders not to take advantage of the situation after the opening of CPO exports.

"Don't take advantage of the situation, so that the market mechanism does not run in a healthy and normal way," he said.

Meanwhile, an oil palm farmer in Central Bangka, Wawan, said that the price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) for palm oil has started to climb in recent days from IDR 1,800 per kilogram to IDR 2,180 per kilogram.

"The price of FFB has started to rise in the last few days, it is possible that the price will continue to rise," he said.
