JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan wants all local governments to publish electronic catalogs or local E-Catalogs in the procurement of goods and services.

This was conveyed by Luhut during the Evaluation of the Affirmation of Love for Domestic Products, which was attended by President Joko Widodo at the JCC Senayan.

"We also continue to strive to encourage the broadcasting of local E-Catalogs by all regional governments," said Luhut as seen on the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube video, Tuesday, May 24.

Luhut revealed that until now there are still 46 governments at the district/city level that have broadcast local E-Catalogs. Therefore, Luhut asked the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) to encourage other local governments to immediately broadcast it.

"We ask the Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure that the 496 local governments immediately broadcast the local E-Catalog on Tuesday, May 31, 2022," said Luhut.

So far, Luhut said there have been 340,342 local products broadcast on the E-Catalog as of May 24, 2022. Meanwhile, President Jokowi targets local E-Catalog products to be broadcast to reach 1 million products by 2022.

For information, President Jokowi issued Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 2 of 2022 concerning the Acceleration of Increasing the Use of Domestic Products and Products of Micro, Small Business, and Cooperatives in the context of the Success of the Proud National Movement Made in Indonesia in the Implementation of Government Procurement of Goods/Services.

One of Jokowi's instructions in the Presidential Instruction is to ask his staff to plan, allocate, and realize the procurement of government goods/services using domestic products in ministries/agencies (K/L) and local governments (Pemda).

Then, encourage the acceleration of displaying domestic products and products of micro, small businesses, and cooperatives in sectoral/local catalogs.
