SIDIKALANG - The General Election Commission of Dairi Regency launched the Village Election and Election Care (DP3) program in Bintang Hulu Village, Sidikalang District to make the 2024 Election a success.

The launch of the DP3 was carried out by the Regent of Dairi, North Sumatra, Dr. Eddy Keleng Ate Berutu in the courtyard of the Pancuran HKI Church, Tuesday 23 May.

Elections will be held on February 14, 2024, to elect the President, Vice President, and members of the council, both at the central and regional levels, while the simultaneous regional elections will be held on November 27, 2024.

“Electoral education is an important element in democracy. The Dairi Regency Government supports the presence of the Election Care Village and Elections," he said as quoted by Antara.

He said the village is the smallest level in the district so if the village in a political context is able to be independent, it will have a positive impact and community political participation will also increase.

The Regent, who has won the Best CEO on Business Strategic award from Business Review, knows information about elections so the presence of DP3 is needed, especially for the younger generation.

The chairman of the Dairi KPU Freddy Sinaga expressed his gratitude to the Dairi Regent for the support given to the Dairi KPU so that the Dp3 launch could be carried out.

Election education, said Freddy Sinaga, has an important role to face the 2024 General Election.

"There are 100 election cadres from four locations, 25 each, who will be deployed to guard the KPU in conveying the importance of making the 2024 election a success," he said.
