BMKG Predicts Rain For NTB For The Next 2 Days

MATARAM - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) noted the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds to hit parts of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) for the next two days.

"Potential rain is expected to occur from noon to late afternoon for the next two days," said Agastya Argha Candra, a BMKG forecaster at the Zainuddin Abdul Madjid Meteorological Station, Lombok, in a written statement, Tuesday, May 24.

On May 24, 2022, the BMKG estimates that it will rain in parts of NTB in the districts of West Lombok and West Sumbawa.

Meanwhile, the regencies of East Lombok, East Lombok, North Lombok, Mataram City, Sumbawa, Dompu, Bima did not have rain.

Furthermore, on Wednesday, May 25, as reported by Antara, BMKG predicts the potential for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by strong winds in the districts of West Lombok, Central Lombok, East Lombok, North Lombok, Mataram City, West Sumbawa, Sumbawa, Bima and Dompu.

"On May 25, on average in some regencies/cities in NTB there is the potential for rain to occur," he said

Therefore, BMKG appeals to the public to be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds which can cause floods, landslides and fallen trees.

"We urge NTB residents in general to stay alert during heavy rains," he said.
