After Falling From A Motorcycle Beaten By Residents, Fraud Perpetrators In Cilandak Who Claimed To Be Police Undergo Brain Operation

JAKARTA - The head of the Cilandak Police, Kompol Multazam, revealed that the man who was paraded by residents in Cilandak for committing mobile phone fraud and claiming to be the police, will undergo brain surgery at the hospital due to the injuries he suffered after falling from a motorbike while fleeing.

"The perpetrator underwent brain surgery. There were injuries caused by the accident (accident) he crossed the street bump (sleeping policeman) and then fell," said Multazam in a short message, Tuesday, May 24.

Multazam has not provided further information regarding the next legal process because the condition of the perpetrator is not possible to undergo examination.

It was previously reported that a man with the initials S committed fraud against AP, a teenage boy in Cilandak, South Jakarta. To the victim, S admitted that he was a member of the police who would conduct drug raids at a number of cafes.

"(So) the victim's cellphone was asked by the perpetrator and entrusted to the victim's friend to be miscall. And when he arrived at the cafe location, the perpetrator asked the victim to wait. Then the perpetrator went to the victim's friend to take the cellphone and then ran away," explained Multazam, Monday , May 23.

The victim's friend trusted the perpetrator because he claimed to be a police officer. "Finally, the victim's friend gave the cellphone to the perpetrator," he continued.

Realizing that he had been duped, AP immediately pursued the perpetrators to Jalan Madrasah, South Gandaria, South Jakata.

"The victim and the perpetrator chased at a fairly high speed and then bounced. Then they fell to the side of the road and there were marks of drag on the asphalt," he said.

Residents who knew immediately arrested the perpetrators and paraded him by means of mutual assistance.

"The perpetrator was secured and taken to the Kramajati Hospital, East Jakarta for intensive treatment," he concluded.

Alan, one of the eyewitnesses at the scene said the incident occurred at around 20.00 WIB. The perpetrator, said Alan, acted in the Cipete Dalam area, Cilandak, South Jakarta. At that time the victim was chased by the perpetrator to the South Gandaria area.

"The perpetrator was driving fast, and he bounced because there was a speed bump near the grave," said Alan, Saturday, May 21.

After falling, the perpetrator was attacked by residents at the location. But soon the police officers arrived to secure it.
