JAKARTA - The General Chair of the Indonesian Women Entrepreneurs Cooperative (Ikowapi) Sharmila Yahya was elected as the life membership or the first lifetime honorary member from Indonesia in The International Council of Women 36th General Assembly event.

Sharmila is honored to receive the award to coincide with the 114th anniversary of National Awakening Day. She hopes that this award can encourage the active role of Indonesian women in fighting for rights, access to education, health and gender diversity in the world of trade and professionals at the international level.

"This is an extraordinary honor. Coinciding with National Awakening Day, ICW's Life Membership motivates Indonesian women to rise up, be active and contribute in various fields," said Sharmila in a written statement, Saturday, May 21.
