Polri's Response To Criticism On The Treatment Of Suspects, OUR Top Official: There Is No Difference With Others

JAKARTA - The National Police has responded to criticism regarding the handling of suspected high-ranking officials from the Coalition to Save Indonesia (US). The National Police was criticized because it was considered to be discriminating against the suspect because US officials were shown at the press conference handcuffed.

"So far, we have said the same, there is no difference with other suspects," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono to reporters, Friday, October 16.

Awi also responded when asked about Bareskrim Polri's treatment of the suspect Brigadier General Prasetyo Utomo and Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte who were not wearing custody after being named suspects.

"Earlier in the prison," said Awi, referring to Prasetyo and Napoleon.

Former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) Jimly Asshiddiqie voiced criticism of the National Police. Jimly said that the case that ensnared the suspects was not deservedly needed as a dangerous criminal.

"Look for bad people, not people who are wrong or just wrong," said Jimly.
