Ministry Of Religion Closes Bipih Payment Time, 97.26 Percent Of Regular Hajj Candidates Confirmed To Depart To Makkah

JAKARTA - A total of 89,715 Hajj candidates have been recorded to have paid the 2022 Hajj Travel Costs (Bipih). Tens of thousands of Hajj candidates are confirmed to leave for the Holy Land in 2022.

The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) is known to have closed the deadline for paying Bipih 2022 and at the same time confirming the prospective hajj pilgrims departing for Mecca this year.

"As of closing this afternoon, 89,715 pilgrims have made payment and confirmed departures. This means, it has reached 97.26 percent of the quota for regular pilgrims, amounting to 92,246," said Director of Domestic Hajj Services at the Ministry of Religion, Saiful Mujab, Saturday, May 21. "This does not include the quota for Regional Hajj Officers and supervisors from KBIHU," he continued.

Saiful said that payment and confirmation of departure for Hajj pilgrims will be open for two weeks, May 9-20 2022. At the same time, the Ministry of Religion has also provided an opportunity for pilgrims to make payment and confirm departure with a reserve status.

Meanwhile, he said, a total of 12,294 congregants with reserve status had paid off and confirmed their departure. According to him, confirmation of departure must be made by the congregation who has paid Bipih. "So, the remaining quota of 2,531 is filled by reserve congregants who have paid off and confirmed their departure, which amounts to 12,294," he concluded.
