Dozens Of Rioters Stepped On When There Was A Demonstration At The Horse Statue, Gambir Police Chief Entered The Hospital

JAKARTA - The demonstration in the Horse Statue area, Gambir District, Central Jakarta, ended in chaos, Friday, May 20, afternoon. Two police officers became victims of violence by rioters.

In fact, in the rioting incident, Gambir Metro Police Chief Kompol Rango Siregar became a victim. This police officer had to get treatment because he was trampled by the rioters after the shoving took place.

Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komarudin said there was an act of provocation so that some of our members became victims, including the Gambir Police Chief.

As a result, the Gambir Metro Police Chief had to be rushed to the hospital for intensive treatment.

"The Gambir Police Chief is now in the hospital. There was a push and he fell. Then the crowd stepped on it," he said when confirmed, Friday, May 20.

After the rioting incident, the police finally arrested as many as 26 rioters outside the student group.

From the results of the temporary identification, the 26 people who were arrested were not students. The rioters were taken to the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters.

"From the identification, some of them admit that they are not a student group," he said.

Furthermore, Kombes Komarudin explained that during the action, another group suddenly joined the crowd.

He said the unidentified mob forced themselves to break through the ranks of officers who were securing the demonstration.
