JAKARTA - The Director General of Disease Prevention and Control of the Ministry of Health, Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, said that the history of children's immunizations was digitally recorded in the Sehat IndonesiaKu (ASIK) application.

"Today we have launched the ASIK application and we have used the ASIK application to record children's immunization data digitally," said Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, May 19.

Maxi said the application was launched by the Ministry of Health through the Digital Transformation Office during the declaration of the 2022 National Child Immunization Month (BIAN) in Tanjung Pinang City, Riau Islands, Wednesday (18/5).

ASIK is part of the mission of the Indonesian Ministry of Health in an effort to transform health services by helping health workers to record patient data more efficiently and integrated into a single database.

Another advantage is that the application can be used without being connected to the internet to make it easier for health workers in remote and disadvantaged areas to increase data collection on complete basic immunization coverage for children in Indonesia.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained that the system is similar to data collection for COVID-19 vaccinations.

"Later on, children who have received immunizations will be recorded digitally in ASIK which is also integrated with PeduliLindungi," he said.

This integration is to make it easier for parents to access children's immunization data anywhere and anytime, even for the next dozen years, said Budi.

"When children need immunization records for school purposes, all data can be safely stored in the Ministry of Health database. We will provide this application to all Puskesmas and health offices so that the data is also available in every region," he said.

ASIK implementation is carried out during BIAN 2022. Health workers at the Posyandu and Posbindu recorded using an application on their cellphone during immunization.

The 2022 BIAN will be held in Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Bali, NTB, NTT, Maluku and Papua since May 2022 and followed by Java and Bali in August 2022.
