KENDARI - City Police Resort (Polresta) Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi conducted large-scale raids or searches of vehicles, especially two and four-wheelers, due to rampant street crimes in the form of arcing.

"We are from the Kendari Police tonight (May 17) and previously we had actually carried out activities to create conditions to provide a sense of security to the community. But what we have made even more massive is that recently many residents have been hit by arrows every day," he said. He explained that vehicle searches were carried out by his staff, especially in Kendari City, because recently there have been rampant acts of burglary by unknown persons (OTK).

He admitted that currently, street crimes are rampant, which take many victims, both men and women.

He said that the last time the shooting took place was on Tuesday, May 17, at around 02.30 central Indonesia time, where the victim was a young man who worked as a motorcycle taxi driver. The victim was bowed out of the car by OTK.

"Last night at two o'clock in the morning, at approximately 02.30 in the morning at the Bypass in front of MasterPiece there were residents (victims, ed.). We don't want our citizens to be affected anymore, as victims of arcing," he said.

With the current condition of rampant crime on the streets, the Kendari Police carried out a vehicle raid to check for sharp items, including bow blades and bow catapults.

"So the targets are crimes, especially community members who carry sharp weapons, whether it's a badik, the main thing we are looking for is a bow and catapult," he said.

The Kendari Police involved approximately 250 personnel in conducting raids targeting vulnerable points in Kendari City, including at the Kendari-Ranomeeto border, Abeli ​​in Kendari Beach, or Kendari Beach to the road in the Citra Land Housing area, some even moving around or moving.

He appealed to the public, especially Kendari, not to panic because the Kendari Police ensure the convenience of the community to carry out activities from morning to early morning.
