All Cattle Breeders In Tangerang City Will Gather To Prevent FMD In Livestock

TANGERANG - All cattle breeders in Tangerang City, Banten will receive information related to Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) in livestock. The socialization was carried out by the local Food Security Service (DKP).

The Head of Agriculture, Ibnu Ariefyanto, ensures that Tangerang City is zero FMD. He said that until now his party had not received a report related to the FMD case.

"Tangerang City DKP has also formed an FMD rapid response unit team", he said in a written statement, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, May 17.

In addition, Ibnu added, various efforts have also been made, such as direct animal health checks for farmers, drug distribution, vitamin injections, antibiotics, and immune strengthening.

He said that supervision in Tangerang City would continue to be tightened after the Ministry closed the route for cattle shipments from areas indicated by FMD.

"Tangerang City is currently just tightening the refusal to accept cattle from areas that are suspected of being affected by FMD", said Ibnu.

He also ensured that FMD is not transmitted to humans and infected animal meat, it can still be consumed as long as it is through the correct standard operating procedures. One of them is cooking meat clean and perfectly cooked.

“With that, we hope that cattle breeders can maintain the health of their cows and cows. We also hope that the public will not panic too much because God willing, DKP will control this epidemic to the fullest", he said.
