JAKARTA - A man, S (45) died after trying to commit suicide by entering a well near his house in Gandasari, Jayanti, Tangerang Regency.

The head of the local neighborhood, Amurudin, said the incident occurred on Sunday, May 15, at 01.15 western Indonesia time. He revealed that he only knew when the victim had entered the well.

However, before the incident occurred, Amirudin said the victim had asked him for a job.

"So at 01.15 western Indonesia time, we chatted and asked for my work. When I came home, a small child said that Suhandi had entered a well," said Amirudin via text message, Sunday, May 15.

When contacted, the Head of Emergency and Logistics of BPBD, Abdul Munir, said the victim allegedly committed suicide. This is based on the testimony of witnesses in the field.

"Yes (the victim) committed suicide," said Munir via text message, Sunday, May 15.

Munir explained that the victim actually held the well rope and tried to be helped to get out of there. However, S chose to let go of the rope.

"The victim was holding the rope from the well and the witness tried to help him pull it. However, the victim couldn't hold on to the rope and let go of the rope.

He explained that his party who received information about someone who had fallen into the well immediately rushed to the scene. After two hours, S was finally managed to evacuate.

"At 03.07 we arrived at the location, then it took us two hours for the victim to finally be able to evacuate from the well," he concluded.
