3,000 Families In Kupang Live In Uninhabitable Houses

KUPANG - The Kupang City Government stated that at least 3,000 heads of families (KK) in its territory occupy uninhabitable houses. The number of KK are poor families.

"There are still quite a lot of people living in uninhabitable houses in Kupang City," said the Head of the Kupang City Public Housing and Settlement Area, Cornelis Beni Sain in Kupang, Friday, May 13.

He said that the 3,000 families were the government's target for the construction of habitable houses. According to him, the construction is part of a Kupang City Government program called stimulant assistance for self-help housing providers.

Beni Sain added that the stimulant assistance program for self-help housing providers was motivated by the vision of the Mayor of Kupang for the 2017-2022 period.

The vision is the realization of a livable, intelligent, independent and prosperous Kupang City with KKN-free governance in the mission of providing a safe, productive and sustainable city space.

He said, through the idea of the Mayor of Kupang, Jefri Riwu Kore, as many as 3,000 heads of families in Kupang City still live in uninhabitable houses.

"Thousands of people need the government's attention, so it is hoped that this program can continue so that more and more underprivileged people are assisted and have decent housing," said Beni Sain.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Community Empowerment Institute (LPM) of Alak Village, Yonathan Penu, appreciated the breakthrough of the Mayor of Kupang, Jefri Riwu Kore, who had built thousands of livable houses for the poor.

Yonathan Penu also gave high appreciation for the street lighting program and the provision of clean water for the Kali Dendeng SPAM which is now starting to be enjoyed by residents.

According to him, these aids will continue to stick in the hearts of the people and give hope to the community to believe in leaders who have integrity and fight for justice for all their citizens.
