JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo ensured that the police continued to monitor the implementation of the policy on the export ban on crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative products issued by President Joko Widodo on April 28.

According to the National Police Chief, the police continue to monitor the producers and the market regarding the policy, to ensure the availability of national palm oil stocks and control the price of bulk cooking oil.

"The National Police will continue to supervise and check in the field on the process of realizing the production and distribution of bulk cooking oil by the company. As well as monitoring the implementation of the export ban policy as ordered by the President," Sigit said in a statement quoted by Antara, Thursday, May 12.

The National Police Chief said that since two weeks of the issuance of the policy on the export ban on CPO and its derivative products, it had an impact on the price and stock of marketed cooking oil.

Based on data and findings in the field, said Sigit, until now the price and stock of cooking oil on the market are still fluctuating and varied.

Thus, President Joko Widodo's policy of prohibiting the export of CPO and its derivative products aims to meet domestic needs.

"With direct and continuous supervision from the police in the field, it is hoped that the implementation of the President's policy will be able to meet the high demand for cooking oil at the expected selling price," said Sigit.

Sigit also emphasized to all producers and distributors of oil to really implement the policies that have been issued by President Jokowi for the benefit of the Indonesian people.

General Sigit stressed that the police will not hesitate to take firm action against those who do not respect or carry out the decisions of the Indonesian government regarding cooking oil.

"The National Police is focused on monitoring, and we will not hesitate to take firm action against all parties who are indicated as trying to violate this cooking oil export ban policy. All of this is done to meet the needs of the Indonesian people," said the National Police Chief.

Sigit said the National Police from the beginning focused on supervising and monitoring the availability and price control of cooking oil. Together with the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), the National Police formed a joint task force to monitor producers, level I to IV distributors and retailers for a full 24 hours.

The joint task force is placed starting at the central level for producers and at the head office also personnel from the police and the Ministry of Industry.

The National Police Chief ensured that monitoring and monitoring were attached for 24 hours. The National Police had deployed personnel from the Food Task Force at the central, regional, to Bhabinkamtibmas levels to check the availability and stability of bulk cooking oil prices on the market.

"So we can monitor the series of processes, from producers, distributors to the market, really well," said Sigit.
