Minister Of Home Affairs Tito Inaugurates Acting Governor Of DKI Jakarta To Replace Anies Baswedan In October

JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Tito Karnavian said he would inaugurate the acting (Pj) Governor of DKI Jakarta in October. Meanwhile, in July this year, he will first inaugurate the Acting Governor of Aceh.

"July Aceh, October DKI Jakarta," Tito told reporters at the Ministry of Home Affairs Building, Jalan Merdeka Utara, Thursday, May 12.

Tito said, the name of the Acting Governor of Aceh is currently still being searched. Likewise for the name that will replace Anies Baswedan whose term of office has expired.

"Aceh, now we are still searching. Maybe in June we will have the names submitted to the President," he said.

"It will be the same in October as well a month earlier, as we have already received a name and submitted it to the President," added the former National Police Chief.

Furthermore, Tito explained the criteria for the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. Whoever is elected, he must be a high-ranking middle-ranking official.

However, Tito did not want to talk further about the name that was predicted to be the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. Because, at this time, the Ministry of Home Affairs is still in the stage of receiving input and profiling.

"Whether there is a problem or not, we are profiling, whether there are potential cases or not," he said.

As previously reported, there are 272 regional heads in Indonesia whose terms of office will expire in the near future. Later, they will be replaced by officials until the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) which will be held in 2024.

Meanwhile, today, May 12, Tito has appointed the Acting Governor in his office. Those appointed are:

1. Banten Regional Secretary Al Muktabar who became the Acting Governor of Banten

2. Director General of Regional Autonomy (Otda) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) Akmal Malik who became Acting Governor of West Sulawesi

3. Director General of Mineral and Coal of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Ridwan Djamaluddin who became Acting Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands

4. Expert Staff for Sportivity Culture of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Hamka Hendra Noer who will be inaugurated as Acting Governor of Gorontalo

5. Komjen (Ret.) Paulus Waterpauw who now serves as Deputy for Management of Potential Border Areas at the BNPP Ministry of Home Affairs as Acting Governor of West Papua.
