JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Agency (Dukcapil) Budi Awaluddin emphasized that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government would not hold the Population Justice Operation for immigrants, which was implemented during the leadership of Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok).

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, said Budi, did not want to be seen as discriminatory to people outside the region who entered Jakarta.

"This Yustisi operation has been going on for a long time. It's been almost 4 years since Mr. Anies, we haven't done justification because Jakarta is a city of justice. Jakarta belongs to all. We must not discriminate against residents who come to Jakarta," Budi said in a YouTube show for the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. , Wednesday, April 11th.

Although there is no Population Justice Operation, Budi reminded immigrants to ensure that their arrival to Jakarta has a clear purpose, place of residence, and job certainty.

Migrants, continued Budi, were asked to apply for a non-permanent residence certificate. The requirement is to bring an ID card and family card from the area of origin and bring a cover letter from the RT where they live in Jakarta.

"We allow everyone to come to Jakarta as long as they have complete requirements to become residents of Jakarta. Make sure that when they come to Jakarta it is clear what they want and there is a guarantee letter of where they live, so that no one is left behind," he explained.

Furthermore, Budi estimates that there will be 20 thousand to 50 thousand new arrivals after the 2022 Eid holiday. This number of new arrivals is triggered by several factors. One of them is the COVID-19 case in the capital, which is increasingly under control. "We estimate that this May there will be a spike to 20 thousand to 50 thousand new arrivals in Jakarta," said Budi.

Budi estimates that May 2022 will be the period with the most arrivals as the flow of going home and returning to Lebaran. During 2022, the DKI Provincial Government (Pemprov) estimates that there will be an additional immigrant population of up to 180 thousand people.
