After The Eid Holiday, The Task Force For COVID-19 Cases In Bandung Will Remain Under Control

BANDUNG - The COVID-19 Task Force has ensured that the number of cases in the city of Bandung remains under control even though people have just undergone the long Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri or Lebaran 2022 holiday.

The Daily Head of the Bandung City COVID-19 Task Force, Asep Gufron, said that one of the reasons was that health workers were intensely vaccinating the community during the month of Ramadan.

"Also when the tarling (circular taraweh) has outlets, it reaches 100-300 doses, officers in mobile areas, combing, meet the requirements to be vaccinated," said Asep in Bandung, West Java, Monday 9 May.

He explained that until May 2022, the achievement of vaccinations starting from doses of one to three doses in Bandung City had exceeded the target.

According to him, the COVID-19 vaccination for the first dose reached 113 percent, the second dose reached 104 percent, and the third dose reached 32 percent. As for the city of Bandung there are as many as 1.9 residents who are targeted for vaccination.

"We continue to socialize in the area as well. Not only that, there is also an internal evaluation for mapping the acceleration of the booster," he said.

He also believes that the City of Bandung should have the status of Level 1 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) because, he said, vaccination activities, bed availability, and other indicators are good enough.

"Otherwise the agglomeration should be level 1. We will definitely continue to increase vaccinations and also strengthen herd immunity," said Asep, as quoted by Antara.

Based on the latest data from the Bandung City COVID-19 Information Center, the number of active cases is now only 26 people. Meanwhile, the daily increase in cases is as many as seven people, and four people have been declared cured.
