D+7 Lebaran, 12,700 People Still Go Back To Their Hometowns

JAKARTA - The public's enthusiasm for going home by train has continued until Sunday, May 8, yesterday.

Public Relations Daop 1 Jakarta recorded that 543,300 long-distance train tickets were sold for departures from April 22 to May 8. The destination cities for travelers who are still idols are Central Java, East Java and West Java.

"The ones that many users choose include the destinations of Yogyakarta, Solo, Kutoarjo, Purwokerto, Kebumen, Tegal, Semarang, Surabaya, Malang, Cirebon and Bandung," said Head of Public Relations Daop 1 Jakarta Eva Chairunisa to VOI, Monday 9 May.

From the latest data on Sunday, May 8, Eva said, at Gambir Station there are 36 trains (KA) operating, 8 of which are additional trains.

"Sunday May 8, yesterday, the volume of passengers departing at Gambir Station reached 11,700 passengers or 67 percent of the total available seats of 17,700," he said.

Even though Eid 2022 has passed, there are still many people who will go to their hometowns. They chose to depart after Eid because they avoided the density of passengers.

Meanwhile, at Pasar Senen Station, there are at least 29 trains operating. 3 of them are additional trains to facilitate passengers.

"The volume of departing passengers at Senen Station is 12,700 or 60 percent of the total available seats of 21,500," he said.

After the Lebaran train departure, Eva said there was still a surge in passengers.

"From this number, it can be said that the volume of departures from the Daop 1 Jakarta area is still quite high," he said.
