Three Tourists Died By Drowning On The South Coast Of Sukabumi

JAKARTA - Three tourists who traveled to the South Coast of Sukabumi died from drowning while swimming. The Polairud Unit of the Sukabumi Police, West Java, recorded the three tourists, namely Gibran (7) a resident of Nyalindung Village, Cicurug District, who drowned on Rawakalong Beach, Palabuhanratu District on Wednesday, May 4, his body was found on Thursday, May 5.

Then, Moh Fajar Risky, a tourist from Pancoran Village, RT 02/06, Depok City, West Java. The victim drowned at Cibuaya Beach, Pangumbahan Village, on Saturday, May 7.

Lastly, Yoga Pamungkas, a tourist from Cibadakpondok Village, RT 002, RW 001, Kayumanis Village, Tanahsareal District, Bogor City, who drowned on Kebonkalapa Beach Karanghawu on Thursday, May 5, and his body was only found on Sunday, May 8.

"All the bodies of the victims have been handed over to the families for burial. Apart from those who died, the joint SAR team managed to save the lives of tourists who drowned at several points of this south coast tourist attraction," said Kasatpolairud Sukabumi Police AKP Tenda Sukendar quoted from ANTARA, Sunday, May 8 .

According to Tenda, the marine accident that happened to the tourists was caused by not heeding the advice of the coast guard and not paying attention to signs, including being desperate to swim in vulnerable locations such as high waves and strong underwater currents and being desperate to swim in prohibited locations.

During the security of tourist objects, his party along with other officers did not stop giving warnings and even strict warnings not to swim in vulnerable locations and when the sea was high tide, but because of the large number of tourists visiting this beach tourist location, many of them did not comply with the regulations.

"Although currently the volume of tourists who are still staying at the South Coast tourist attraction of Sukabumi Regency has decreased considerably, but joint security personnel assisted by volunteers are still on standby," he added.

He also appreciated the joint SAR team and various other institutions and volunteers who had helped his party during the Ketupat Lodaya 2022 operation, especially in the south coast tourist attraction which had provided various services and other assistance to tourists.
