PAPUA - The Armed Criminal Group (KKB), Sunday morning at around 10.45 WIT, attacked TNI-Polri personnel who were carrying out security at the Okbibab Protestant Church, in Apmisibil Village, Okbibab District, Pegunungan Bintang Regency, Papua.

The Head of the Pegunungan Bintang Police, AKBP Cahyo Sukarnito, confirmed the attack from the KKB against TNI-Polri personnel who were carrying out security at the church. The KKB attack was carried out from two directions, causing two personnel to be injured.

The two injured personnel were members of the Cartenz Peace Task Force Bripda Vanny Putra Perdana and members of the 431st Battalion 431/SSP Task Force Military District Command, Willy John.

"The two victims are in the process of evacuating to Jayapura using a police helicopter", Cahyo said as quoted by Antara.

"We prioritize evacuating the two victims so that they can be immediately handled by paramedics", said Cahyo.
