After 2 Years, Lembali Eid Prayer Held In Makassar Port Area

MAKASSAR - The Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri prayer was held again in the Makassar Port area, after the last two years it was not opened for congregational prayer activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The Eid prayer may be held on Monday (2/5) or following the date set by the Indonesian government," said Riman S Duyo, chairman of the BKS Rohis Management for the South Sulawesi Transportation Family, in Makassar.

He said, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 4 Makassar together with agencies that are members of the Large Family Islamic Spiritual Development Cooperation Agency (BKS Rohis) for Transportation in South Sulawesi Province held Eid prayers in front of warehouse 104 and the Makassar Port parking lot.

It is stated that the congregation who wants to perform the Eid prayer starts at 06.30 WITA until it is finished. Acting as the Imam is Ustaz Abd Gaffar, while the Khatib is Prof. Dr H Lomba Sultan, MA, the theme of the sermon is "With Eid Al-Fitr We Achieve Spiritual Victory and Emotional Control.

Riman said this year's Eid prayer will be held at the Makassar Port while still following the health protocol, namely by appealing to the congregation to continue to wear masks.

In addition to being attended by administrators and members of the Cooperation Agency for Islamic Spiritual Guidance for the South Sulawesi Province of Transportation, the committee also invited the entire community, especially those around the Makassar Port to participate in carrying out the Eid prayer together.

"Especially for the congregation, the port entry pass will be removed," said Riman.

This is emphasized because during the Eid al-Fitr prayers in previous years, sometimes the congregation was burdened with unscrupulous people who collect parking illegally, even though parking should be free, not being charged a penny.

There is also a port entry pass which is usually paid before entering the port, when the Eid prayer is deactivated for pilgrims who will enter to pray.

Every year BKS Rohis, the South Sulawesi Transportation Family, always holds Eid prayers in the Makassar Port area. Therefore, this year's implementation is sought to be more optimal than previous years.
