After Eid Prayers At The Istiqlal Mosque, The Vice President And Wife Immediately Go To Banten: Homecoming Can Be 2 Times A Month

JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin plans to hold Eid prayers in Jakarta. After that, just go back to Banten.

"Perhaps I myself will pray Eid in Jakarta, maybe I will at the Istiqlal Mosque, the plan I took," said the Vice President at the Jakarta Vice Presidential Palace, Tuesday, April 26.

This year the government has allowed the implementation of Eid prayers in mosques or in the field. Nevertheless, we continue to apply health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"If my homecoming is not far away, I'm very close to Banten there, 1.5 hours. So, going home for me can be twice a month. Indeed, because it is close," said the vice president quoted from Antara.

The vice president also hopes that the community will maintain health protocols during Eid prayers.

"In the context of implementing Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri, well, indeed we allow (Id prayers) in mosques, in the field, everything is allowed, only health protocols are maintained," he said.

Based on the Circular Letter of the Minister of Religion Number 08 of 2022 dated March 29, 2022, the Ministry of Religion requires the administrators and managers of mosques/musalas to adjust the implementation of worship/religious activities in places of worship in accordance with the status of the level of application of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) in their respective regions.

Managers of mosques/musalas may open the entire capacity of places of worship up to 100 percent if they are in the PPKM Level 1 area, 75 percent for PPKM Level 2, and 50 percent for PPKM Level 3.

Managers and managers of mosques/musalas are also required to appoint officers who ensure the socialization and application of health protocols to all congregations during worship.
