Meet Gembrong Market Fire Victims, Anies Prepares Replacement Kiosk Until Capital Assistance, Hears 'President' Shouts

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan visited the location of the fire at Gembrong Market, East Jakarta. He met residents who were evacuating because their homes were engulfed in flames last night.

Anies' arrival was enthusiastically welcomed by the residents. Several residents expressed their gratitude for feeling that Anies was being cared for directly. In fact, there was a time when someone shouted Anies "president" while traveling to the fire site.

To the traders whose stalls caught fire, Anies promised to prepare a replacement kiosk not far from Gembrong Market.

"To the traders around here, because this is the Gembrong Market area, they have prepared a place to sell in the market area, not far from here. There are 40 stalls that have been prepared and the number of traders is also 40 who are affected. So, God willing, it can be immediately prepared in there," said Anies at the location, Monday, April 25.

Anies also said that the DKI Provincial Government would provide capital to residents and traders who were affected by the fire. This is to help them return to their income towards the end of Ramadan, which is currently high economic turnover.

"Plus, working capital assistance is provided for those affected so that they have the initial capital to start again. So, we, the DKI Provincial Government will not leave residents alone in facing this disaster. We will accompany, help, and we will make sure everything needed can be done. given," he explained.

Currently, the DKI Provincial Government is preparing temporary refugee tents and meeting basic needs such as eating, drinking, and clothing so that fire-affected residents are not neglected.

Then, the Department of Population and Civil Registration also re-prepared resident documents for residents to replace documents that had been burned.

A total of 400 buildings caught fire in the Pasar Gembrong area, precisely on Jalan Basuki Rahmat, RT 04/01, North Cipinang Besar Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta, on the evening of Sunday, April 24.

The fire scorched houses and toy stalls belonging to residents in the area. The fire was brought under control on Sunday, April 24 at around 23.00 WIB with a burned area of 1200 square meters in 5 RT, Cipinang Besar Utara Village.

From the results of the officer's investigation, the fire originated from an electrical short circuit in one of the residents' houses with the initials R on the second floor of his house. The sparks then spread and spread to other houses, causing a big fire.
