TERNATE - Ternate Police, North Maluku (Malut) alerted as many as 1,000 joint TNI-Polri personnel and the regional government who were deployed to anticipate the planned demonstration of volume IV on April 25, 2022 today.

"In fact, a number of officers will be deployed to security points ahead of the demonstration on Monday, April 25, 2022," said Ternate Police Chief AKBP Andik Purnomo Sigit in Ternate, Antara, Monday, April 25.

The Ternate Police will hold a troop deployment at the Ternate Police apple field, and ask the public to avoid roads or locations for demonstrations, to avoid disturbances in the security and social order.

Previously, the Ternate Police sent 35 students suspected of being provocateurs in a demonstration against the second volume increase in fuel prices in Ternate City on Monday, April 18 last week.

Dozens of students who were arrested after coaching and signing a statement not to carry out anarchic actions when carrying out further actions, and of the 36 who were arrested during the action, 35 of them have been sent home while one other person is still being detained.

The police chief added that 35 students were sent home, but from the results of urine tests on 36 demonstrators, one of whom had the initials SR, the urine test results were positive for using drugs.

"From the urine results, the student with the initials SR was positive for drug use, so we are still investigating first, while we have sent the other 35 people home by signing a statement," he said.

The North Maluku Regional Police appealed to younger students and OKP to guide and carry out the mandate of Law Number 9 of 1998 concerning the expression of opinions in public.
