JAKARTA – Ahead of the Eid al-Fitr holiday 1334 Hijri, the business of pet care services in Banda Aceh is flooded with consumers.

“A week before Eid, the average paint shop in Aceh is full for the hotel. There are around 40 cat shops in Banda Aceh," said Haqqul Mubin, owner of the Casa Zunala cat care business in Banda Aceh, Sunday, April 24.

Pet care services such as cats are increasingly sought after by the public ahead of Eid. Especially for those who will go home and go on vacation.

“Because the average person in Banda Aceh is people who migrate from the area. When you return home for Eid, it is certain that the cat is not brought home, but is entrusted to it," he said.

Haqqul admitted that the demand for cat care services in his place has increased on major holidays compared to usual days. This Eid, his cat care center was flooded with residents.

“There are 15 cat hotel rooms in total, and Alhamdulillah, they are full. From March 28 until the end of the Eid holiday, everyone has booked," he said.

He revealed that the cost of keeping one cat at Casa Zunala was IDR 30.000 per day. These costs exclude other costs such as eating and bathing.

Currently, there are still some cats in the hotel room. This is a regular daycare, Saturday-Sunday holidays, the owner is out of the area, he said again.

During the daycare, he said, the cat was not confined 24 hours. There are times when the cat is released in the play area for about 40 minutes. Cats are released one at a time to avoid stress and potential fights with other cats.

"Unless the cat has already been in the same house. For example, there is an owner who has four cats, then they are entrusted to us, then we release them all," he said.

Apart from long holidays, the cat shop Casa Zunala has a turnover of around IDR 20-30 million per month. This turnover will increase when the momentum is long holidays, one of which is like last year's holiday.

“Turnover increased up to 35 percent from the usual month. This Eid, God willing, it will go up too. If our turnover is complete, we will store and sell all equipment at the paint shop," he said.
