SEMARANG - The police have arrested five teenage brawlers using sharp weapons in Semarang City, Central Java, whose actions were caught on CCTV cameras.

Head of Criminal Investigation at the Semarang Polrestabes AKBP Donny Lumbantoruan in Semarang, Wednesday, April 20, said the brawl occurred around Jalan Jajan Pasar, Bangetayu Lor Village, Semarang City, on April 17, 2022.

"CCTV around the scene recorded the actions of the teenagers," he said, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the incident began when a number of teenagers were drinking alcohol in the vicinity of Dempelsari Field, Pedurungan, Semarang City on Saturday, April 16 evening.

The group of eight people went around using three motorbikes while waiting for the time for sahur.

While passing around Jalan Jajan Pasar, he continued, the eight people met another group who were sitting around. The eight teenagers with sharp weapons then chased the group that was sitting around Jalan Jajan Pasar only because they were triggered by mutual glances.

The actions of the teenagers were caught by the Genuk Police Patrol officers who received public reports about the brawl before the dawn.

Officers arrested five teenagers who attacked the other group. The five actors are KIA, RF, WRD, AHM, and MRP.

For this action, said Donny, the police will not continue the legal process and return the five perpetrators to their parents.
