"The soldiers of the Akhmat special forces, together with the LPR soldiers, captured the settlements of Kamennaya and Staraya Krasnyanka," Kadyrov said on Telegram, as reported by TASS April 20. "The operation was carried out without any casualties among the personnel," he added.

Kadyrov also said that in the near future the fighters should clear the settlements of mines and arrange humanitarian assistance for the local population.

"Chechen special operations units have started a large-scale operation to eliminate mercenary groups in the Lugansk People's Republic. (The groups) mostly include the so-called Ichkeria Battalion, Georgian Battalion, and other criminal battalions," Kadyrov said.
