Homecoming Travelers Are Asked To Carefully Plan Their Homecoming Travel Dates So They Don't Get Caught In Severe Traffic Jams

SEMARANG - PT Jasa Marga asked travelers who will return to their hometowns by crossing the toll road to plan their day of travel well so that their journey will be smooth during Lebaran homecoming.

PT Jasa Marga's Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru, said that this year's Lebaran homecoming flow is expected to increase compared to the last two years.

According to him, around 2.5 million vehicles are expected to leave Jakarta during this year's homecoming flow.

Based on calculations, he continued, it is estimated that 2,300 vehicles per hour will cross each toll lane.

With such a large volume of vehicles, he asked travelers who will use the toll road to prepare themselves as well as possible.

"Plan the trip well, the day, the time of departure. Prepare fuel, e-toll, to physical conditions and vehicles," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 20.

Dwimawan also appealed to travelers crossing the toll road to be wise when stopping at a resting place.

"With the increase in the volume of vehicles, homecomers who stop at the 'rest area' will be limited to only 30 minutes so that others can use it," he said.

Dwimawan said that this year's homecoming flow was planned to be implemented in one direction or "one way" from west to east as well as setting the odd-even number plates for motorized vehicles.

With the one-way implementation, he said, the operational mechanism for resting places will also apply an open and close system.

The implementation of one-way and odd-even traffic flows is planned to start on April 28 to May 1, 2022.

Meanwhile, for the return flow, it will take effect from 6 to 9 May 2022. There is also a peak in the homecoming flow which is expected to occur on 29 April 2022.
