JAKARTA - Member of the Honorary Board of Election Administrators Didik Supriyanto reminded election organizers in carrying out their duties and authorities, especially regarding the implementation of the 2020 Pilkada, they must be able to maintain the authenticity or authenticity of voters' votes.

"Therefore, we all have to participate in supervising and controlling so that the election organizers together maintain their independence from outside influences such as voter influence, student influence, the influence of candidate pairs and parties," he said.

Didik gave an example, it could be because of student demonstrations, the election organizers were afraid and changed the results of the vote count. Then there could also be pressure from the incumbent being threatened not to be given funds.

"If the election organizers can be maintained on their ethical 'rails', then the election can run well and the authenticity of voters' votes can also be maintained," he said.

DKPP, Didik continued, had been present to enforce the code of ethics for election organizers (KPU and Bawaslu) from central to regional.

"Of course, in carrying out our functions, we are never separated from public input. We are passive, if no one complains, then we cannot carry out an examination," he said.

Based on the recapitulation of case handling at the DKPP from 2012 to June 2020, the number of complaints that were finally proven or decided by DKPP was around 36 percent. "In general, about 90 percent of the ethics of election organizers in our country are good. Even so, DKPP still has to step down, because there are only a few problems with the code of ethics of the election organizers, it will affect the public's view and thus doubt the election organizers," he said.
