JAKARTA - The Professional and Security Sector (Propam) of the East Java Regional Police has examined a number of police officers on viral dangdutan videos who violated the health protocol for preventing COVID-19 in Pasuruan and Tulungagung some time ago.

"Members have been questioned and the verdict of a disciplinary hearing," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko in Surabaya, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, October 6.

He said the disciplinary hearing would be carried out by the direct supervisor of the police personnel involved in the dangdutan event.

"After being examined by the East Java Regional Police Propam Division, it will be tried through its direct superior, namely the Police Chief through a disciplinary hearing," he said.

Kombes Truno is grateful for criticism, suggestions and complaints from the public about this dangdutan police viral video. In the future, he said, his party would be more disciplined in applying health protocols to its members.

"We are grateful to the people who have provided input to the Police. In this case, the police have been very hard working during the pandemic. However, from several ranks there are one or two (who violated)," he said.

The intermediate officer emphasized that even though they are in the green or yellow zone of the spread of COVID-19, it does not mean that police personnel can ignore the application of health protocols.

In the 53-second video, dozens of police officers in full uniforms were seen being dangdutan.

Some of them seemed engrossed in dancing with the two singers on the stage, some of them seemed to be queuing up their turn. Several policemen were seen gathered and some were not wearing masks.

Meanwhile, the second viral video shows a number of police officers dressed in the joget service while singing songs with the singer.

On the back, a banner reads "Farewell and welcome Gondang Police Chief from AKP Siswanto to AKP Suwancono".

The video also shows that a number of policemen are wearing masks, but some are not, while the singers are seen not wearing masks.
