There Are 2 Areas In NTT That The KPK Has Designated As Pilot Villages For Anti-corruption, How Will They Be Assessed?

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has appointed two villages in Ende Regency, NTT as candidates for anti-corruption village pilot villages. The two villages are Nanganesa and West Detusoko villages.

"With this appointment, Ende has become the first district in NTT to be trusted to become a model village for Anti-Corruption," said the observation team from the Directorate of Community Participation Development of the KPK, Friesmount Wongso, in a written statement as quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 14.

Friesmount Wongso said that there were five indicators that the two villages had to fulfill. First, strengthening governance, strengthening supervision, strengthening the quality of public services, strengthening community participation, and local wisdom.

Wongso added that his team carried out three stages before determining one of the two villages as an anti-corruption pilot village, namely the preparation stage in the form of hearings and observations.

The implementation stage is in the form of Technical Guidance and assessment as well as the third stage which is the last stage, namely the launch of the Anti-Corruption Village.

According to Wongso, during an audience with Regent H. Djafar H. Achmad, Regent Djafar was very supportive and appreciated the KPK for choosing Ende district as the first district in NTT whose village was made a pilot village for anti-corruption villages.

Regarding the implementation of the launch of the anti-corruption village, it is planned to be carried out at the end of 2022 after the team has finished conducting an assessment and determining which one of the two villages will be used as an anti-corruption village pilot village.

"This anti-corruption village has services that will lead to digitalization services," he added.

The head of West Detusoko village, Ferdinandus Watu when confirmed regarding the election of his village as one of the pilot candidates for the Anti-Corruption Village, said that his party welcomes and appreciates the KPK Team who chose his village as one of the pilot candidates for anti-corruption villages in NTT.

"In principle, the village of West Detusoko is ready to accept and strive to meet all the criteria that have been set by the KPK as a requirement for an anti-corruption village because this is also part of the implementation of the performance year that has been determined by the Regent Djafar Achmad," he said.

Ferdinandus assessed that the election of his village as one of the pilot candidates for anti-corruption villages was a golden opportunity for him to create good village governance according to the indicators set by the KPK.

"So far, we have tried to organize good governance, but have not used the indicators set by the KPK and this is certainly a golden opportunity for the village to organize government according to the standards set by the KPK," he said.
