North Sulawesi Police Arrest 2 Perpetrators Of Subsidized Diesel Misappropriation

MANADO - Personnel from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the North Sulawesi Police have disclosed and arrested the perpetrators of the crime of oil and gas (Migas) of subsidized diesel fuel in Manado City.

The Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police, Kombes Jules Abraham Abast, said that the police managed to apprehend two perpetrators, each with the initials FL (65) a resident of North Minahasa and VP (55) a resident of Manado City.

"This crime was carried out by the perpetrators at one of the Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) in the Mapanget District, Manado, on Monday (12/4) at around 04.10 WITA," he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, April 13.

Abast, accompanied by the Dirreskrimsus Polda of North Sulawesi, Kombes Nasriadi, said the modus operandi was that the perpetrators abused the purchase and transportation of diesel fuel which was subsidized by the government, by transporting fuel oil using four-wheeled vehicles that had been modified on the tank side of the vehicle.

"The perpetrators were caught taking subsidized diesel fuel in the amount of approximately 3,000 liters which was transported into a modified tank with a capacity of 3,000 liters which was placed in the tub of a four-wheeled dump truck," he said.

The fuel collection process is carried out by opening the gas station nozzle control panel using the control panel key that has been duplicated by the FL perpetrator.

Next, turn on the diesel nozzle and input the amount of filling in the control panel twice, namely 1,900 liters and 1,100 liters, then fill it into the modified tank in the dump truck.

"The activity of refueling this type of diesel fuel was apparently with the knowledge of the security guard with the initials VP who worked at the gas station," he said.

The two perpetrators have been detained at the North Sulawesi Regional Police along with evidence, namely about 3,000 liters of diesel fuel, one modified tank, one unit of Hino brand dump truck, Police Number DB 8309 FD, and one key to the diesel dispenser panel.

The Director of Criminal Investigation at the North Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol Nasriadi, said investigators would continue to investigate this case to reveal the other perpetrators involved.

"The perpetrators are subject to Article 55 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Natural Gas which has been amended in Article 40 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation, with a maximum penalty of 6 years in prison and a maximum fine of Rp. 60 billion," he said. .
