SMRC Survey: Ganjar And Anies Electability Tend To Strengthen

JAKARTA - The results of the latest survey conducted by Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) show that the electability of Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as presidential candidates tends to strengthen.

The results of the survey entitled "Prospects for the 2024 Presidential Candidate" were delivered by the Executive Director of SMRC Sirojudin Abbas, reported by Antara, Thursday, April 7.

Abbas said that in a semi-open question with a list of 43 names, Ganjar Pranowo got 18.1 percent of the vote, Prabowo Subianto 17.6 percent, Anies Baswedan 14.4 percent, and other names under 4 percent.

"There is still 13.7 percent who have not made a choice," he said.

According to him, in the past year, support for Ganjar and Anies has strengthened. The vote for Ganjar rose from 8.8 percent in the March 2021 survey to 18.1 percent in March 2022.

Likewise, with Anies Baswedan, his vote increased from 11.2 percent to 14.4 percent. Meanwhile, support for Prabowo has weakened from 20 percent to 17.6 percent.

However, Abbas noted his support for Ganjar. "Although Ganjar's vote has increased significantly in the past year, it tends to be flat in the last three months. From 19.2 percent in December 2021 to 18.1 percent in March 2022," Abbas said.

This survey was conducted on 1.220 respondents who were randomly selected using the multistage random sampling method on the entire population or Indonesian citizens who already have the right to vote, namely those aged 17 years and over or already married.

The response rate (respondents who can be interviewed validly) is 1.027 or 84 percent. A total of 1.027 of these respondents were analyzed.

The margin of error for the survey with this sample size is estimated at ± 3.12 percent at a 95 percent confidence level (assuming simple random sampling). Face-to-face interviews were conducted on March 13 - 20, 2022.
