BADUNG - Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport ensures the operational readiness of Ground Service Equipment (GSE) equipment as support for normal flight operations and G20 Summit activities. The team checked the ground handling in the airside area.

"I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali is preparing for normal operations and welcoming a number of international activities, one of which is the G20, PT Angkasa Pura I as the manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali together with the regional IV airport authority to check the suitability of the GSE operator equipment. Meanwhile, the checks were carried out on pushback cars, belt conveyor loaders, high lift loaders, baggage towing tractors, and apron passenger buses. The ground handling checks were PT Gapura Angkasa, EAS Airport Service, JAS Airport Service, AFM Aviation, Sari Rahayu Biomantara, and Karisma Flight Support.

"The PT Angkasa Pura I personnel involved in this activity are AMC, aviation security, and ARFF and for a total including the airport authority area IV there are 33 people, there are also 42 GSE inspections carried out and 18 GSE operator permit completeness checks. This means that it is not only the day that the inspection is carried out, the total number of GSE operating at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali is 1.326," he added.

This activity is not the first time it has been carried out, but has become a routine agenda so that the level of service provided is in accordance with the expectations of service users. "Furthermore, we will provide G20 stickers for vehicles that have been operationally fit as a form of support for the international event," he said.

He explained that the role of ground handling in supporting the smooth operation of airlines is needed with the support of good equipment, so that GSE ramp check activities are important to continue.

"I request that all ground handlers prepare their equipment as well as possible. With this activity, I hope Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport can be more operationally ready, coupled with international flights that have started to grow since February 3, 2022, from data to April 5 In 2022, the number of passengers served will be as many as 45.556 passengers coming and going," he said.
