Delayed From The Initial Target, The Revision Of The Academic Paper On The Jakarta Specialty Bill Will Be Completed In May

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said the process of revising the academic text of the Draft Law (RUU) on the Specialty of Jakarta will be completed in May 2022.

"The specifics bill revision is targeted for May. Hopefully it can be finished as soon as possible, we will try," said Riza at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Tuesday, April 5.

The revision of the drafting of the Jakarta Specialty Bill was delayed from the initial target. Where, the completion of the academic manuscript is scheduled to be carried out from February to March 2022.

Furthermore, the draft bill was brought to the inter-ministerial committee (PAK) by the Ministry of Home Affairs from April to September 2022.

Then, the academic texts and the Jakarta Specialty Bill were harmonized from September to October. Until finally, from November to December, it is targeted that the Jakarta Specificity Bill will be included in the list of the 2023 DPR RI National Legislation Program (Prolegnas).

Riza said that currently the revision of academic manuscripts is still being done with input from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

"We will get input from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Later, it will be forwarded to the DPR RI and what is the agenda in the DPR RI," said Riza.

It is known that the Jakarta Specialty Bill was made to replace Law No. 29 of 2007 concerning the Provincial Government of the Special Capital City Region of Jakarta in line with the plan to move the capital city to the Archipelago, East Kalimantan.

So far, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has formed an internal provincial government formulation team in a working group divided into eight sectors to finalize the substance of the proposed Jakarta Specialty Bill.

These sectors are mobility and logistics; economy, investment, and spatial planning; public welfare; fiscal; environment; politics and government; digital economy and readiness; and support team.
