Makassar Transportation Agency Officer Shot OTK Police Hunt Perpetrators

MAKASSAR - The Makassar City Police (Polrestabes), South Sulawesi are still investigating the late Najamuddin Sewang, the victim was allegedly shot by an Unknown Person (OTK) early in Ramadan while crossing Jalan Danau Tanjung Bunga, Tamalate District, Makassar. The Polrestabes, assisted by the Resmob of the South Sulawesi Police, are still carrying out an investigation as to who the perpetrator was who shot Najamuddin Sewang, an employee of the Transportation Service," said Deputy Head of Criminal Investigation at Makassar Police Commissioner Jufri Natsir, in Makassar, Tuesday, April 5. The incident occurred on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at around 11.00 WITA. CCTV footage shows the victim suddenly pulled over on the side of the road and fell from his motorbike. Initially, the victim was suspected of having a heart attack, then he was taken to the nearest hospital, Siloam Hospital by his family and wife. However, the person concerned was declared dead. After being taken to the funeral home, Residence Alauddin Mas, Jalan Sultan Alauddin Makassar, the family felt that something was wrong after the victim's shirt was opened and it was found that there was a hole similar to a bullet wound. The Makassar Transportation Service, previously the person concerned died of a heart attack, but when he arrived at his house there was something odd," said Kompol Jufri, quoted by Antarta. After the autopsy, the body was returned to the family for burial in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi. "After an autopsy was carried out, the person concerned had gunshot wounds to his body. However, in this case, we have also conducted an investigation regarding the gunshot wound resulting from the forensics," he said.

Previously, the family urged the police to immediately reveal the alleged shooting case against the victim. "We are the family, and I personally, the authorities (police) immediately resolve and are responsible for revealing the perpetrator," said the victim's brother, Juni Sewang at the funeral home.
